Research With A Primary Focus

SECTION 1: RESEARCH THAT HAS INFORMED YOUR PRACTICE

It.s a good idea to start by noting down, from the top of your head, the names of some researchers who have influenced your practice.  Spread your net as widely as you like!  Literacy learning is informed by many different kinds of research, following many different paradigms.

Now try to identify areas of uncertainty about English teaching or the teaching of literacy by noting down questions to which you hope some existing research might provide some sort of an answer.  These may or may not relate to the work of the researchers you.ve cited above.

These ideas and questions could form the basis of future investigations.  It can be useful to start a notebook or file on your computer for research ideas and questions, so that you can note these down as they come to you, and ponder them later.
