Dr Nicola Onyett was Head of English at Queen Margaret.s School York for six years, and still teaches there part-time, job-sharing with Ruth Doyle, her co-writer on the NATE/ITE English Language project. Her other areas of interest within the field of English education include her role as a PGCE English tutor in the Department of Educational Studies at the University of York and she also teaches two advanced level undergraduate modules within the department, Modern Fiction for Teenage Readers and Studying Literary Texts: The Learning Process. She is a senior examiner, moderator and coursework advisor for a major examination board and the author of Comparing Texts: An A-level English Guide (Routledge 2005).
