Language Study Post-16

4. Resource Management

Tutors need to ensure that student teachers have access to books, ICT and other resources they need. However, student teachers also need to be able to select appropriate, interesting and motivational resources such as books and other published materials, museum and gallery resources, visual aids, tools, specialist equipment, artefacts and software, and show that they are able to prepare their own resources as necessary. Student teachers also need to be able to recommend further reading or web-based research that will challenge students of all abilities, including the most able. In this context, it is imperative that the student teachers have access to a wide range of textbooks, appropriate academic publications, student-centred journals such as E Magazine, a list of websites, past examination papers and model answers.
